"Winya Wines" is honoured to take its name from the pioneer William Butler, the "Grand Old Man of Kilcoy" loved and respected in the whole region. The Winya vineyard reflects the vision and innovation that William Butler had for this fertile area.

Nestled in the picturesque valley of Sandy Creek and situated at 145 Sandy Creek Road Kilcoy, "Winya Wines" is just 1 hours easy drive from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Owners Gary (Snow) and Sue Pratten ventured into grape growing in 1997 as an addition to their successful beef cattle property. The wines are processed by winemaker Thomas Honnef from Oceanview Winery, Mt.Mee; the result being 8 varieties of superb Queensland Wines and 2 varieties of port, which are recognized for their fine quality.

Visitors are welcome to visit the recently opened cellar door where fine wine tasting can be enjoyed in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere whilst appreciating the breathtaking views of the surrounding district. Visitors are also welcome to visit the on farm display of quality black angus beef cuts. Black Angus rib fillet barbeque meals and cheese platters are offered from Friday to Sunday 10am - 4pm. Winya Wines is now caravan friendly and free of charge for small groups of campers who support our business.

This wine is pale straw in colour with classic varietal aromas of gooseberry, passionfruit and lantana. The palate displays citrus, grapefruit and subtle lemongrass notes backed by a generous base of refreshing, food friendly acidity. The bright crisp nature makes it a great accompaniment to fish and chicken.

The 2015 verdelho displays tropical fruit, paw paw and melon. A balanced experience with a nice palate weight and acid length finish. This wine is ideal with asian cuisine or shellfish.

This fruity luscious wine is ideal for all occasions. The palate shows lively citrus and tropical fruit characters as well as having natural sweetness. Enjoy chilled with a cheese platter or with your favourite dessert.

This wine is made from juice from the cabernet grapes. It is lovely pink sparkling rose with a pleasant sweet acid balance displaying subtle strawberry and raspberry flavours. This bubbly creates a sensational experience to be enjoyed on a special occasion.

This bright fruity light red wine is low in tannin and wood maturation retaining the berry fruit with a nice acid sweet balance. Serve chilled with food of your choice.

The shiraz grapes made a soft fruity lighter style of wine. With a hint of spice it displays excellent aromatic flavours. Deep in colour, rich and varietal this shiraz has a well balanced finish.

This classic malbec displays deep plum and dark fruit blackberries. It has chalky tannins and is an ideal accompaniment to our angus steaks or a hearty roast.
