"Winya Wines" is honoured to take its
name from the pioneer William Butler, the "Grand Old Man of Kilcoy"
loved and respected in the whole region. The Winya vineyard
reflects the vision and innovation that William Butler had for this fertile area.

"Winya Wines" is nestled in the picturesque valley of Sandy Creek and
situated at 145 Sandy Creek Road, Kilcoy. It is just 11/2 hours easy
drive from Brisbane and only 1 hour from the Sunshine Coast. Owners
Gary (Snow) and Sue Pratten ventured into grape growing in 1997 as an addition
to their beef cattle property. In 2001, Snow and Sue were able to
process their first vintage through renowned winemaker Craig Robinson from the
Robinson Family, Ballandean. The result was 8 varieties of superb
Queensland Wines and 1 variety of port, which are recognized in the area for their
fine quality.

Future plans for "Winya Wines" include the establishment of a cellar door
at Sandy Creek which will allow visitors to enjoy fine wine tasting in a friendly,
relaxed atmosphere and appreciate the breathtaking views of the surrounding district.
